The Drag Race

Darrell witnessed a very unusual sight driving home from work tonight. He found himself following David on his bike. David was engaged in a very hotly contested drag race on New Holland Rd. with a horse and buggy! A very ornery young Amish man decided he didn't like being passed by a boy on a bike. Dad says he whipped that horse into a frenzy. Side by side, down the pike, neck and neck, raced the unusual duo. The buggy was swaying, looking like it would tip over. The horse! He was in a full gallop, stretching out his neck, ears back, nostrils flared! You know, many of the Amish buy old racehorses after they retire from the track. Dad says this one had a resemblance to Secretariat! Finally, at the crest of a hill, David pulled out, made the pass, and blew them away on the downgrade.
