After getting up and having another nice breakfast of cereal with peaches, eggs, and bagels, everyone headed out to the beach. Some people rode bike since we only had 1 minivan to transport 12 people.
We all had gotten to Siesta Key beach and found each other by 11 AM or so. Then we had church on the beach for a short while. That was nice. We sang "How did Moses Cross the Red Sea".
Papa Dave, Grandma Rose, Uncle Doug, Aunt Rochelle, Aunt Janie, and Lil left around 1PM or so, as Lil was flying out that afternoon and had to get ready to go. That left the family of 6 on the beach until 6 PM!
We had a good time. It was hot, but the water was pretty refreshing.
No one got very burnt!
Rochelle, Grandma Rose, Emily, and Doug playing pinochle under the umbrellas while Lil tries to figure this game out. Nice shoulder tan, Grandma!
David likes holes. Darrell made him fill them in after a while for two reasons: 1) in case someone might disappear down one, and 2) because it stank.
After we got back, Doug and Rochelle took the van out to a restaurant to eat and watch the World Cup (U.S. vs. Portugal) it was quite the exciting game! Papa Dave and Grandma Rose also decided to have a date night. Their first one in over two weeks!
The beach goers showered, and had the leftovers of Lil's biker bash. Thanks Lil! Glad you and Josiah made it back safe to PA!
Had some relaxation time after dinner. Got foot rubs. Emily and David learned how to play Spades.
Hoping for more great memories tomorrow!
It was so nice to spend a few days with you all! You are an exceptional family! thanks for sharing your bikes, van space, cereal, cheetos, games, etc.I even got to play a few round of pinochle while being locked out of the house. Sorry you had to stay on the beach so long, but it was a gorgeous place to be stranded! Enjoy your week! Love you all! Lil
