Monday, June 23

Uncle Doug and Ellie went to Yoder's to get Peanut Butter pie for breakfast. THANK YOU!

Around 10AM Doug and David rode bike while Rochelle, Grandma Rose, Ladina, Jenna, Emily, and Ellie drove to the newly opened Goodwill in Sarasota.

Trying on funny pants for fun

The Goodwill Hunt was successful! Everyone found something. (Except David, who never spends any money :) )

After Goodwill, David and Doug rode home while the ladies went to a Publix. A Publix is a supermarket on the second floor, with a parking garage underneath.

Separate escalator for shopping carts

David (and probably Papa Dave and / or Uncle Doug) has over 60 miles so far since we've gotten to Sarasota. Wow!

Walked up to Big Olaf's after lunch for the soft ice cream Grandma Rose has been waiting for.

Played some card games in the AC this afternoon, like Spades, Mow, and Bull.

Wonderful home cooked dinner again tonight! More pie (Publix's key lime) for dessert!

Janie, Papa Dave, Grandma Rose, Emily, and Jenna stayed home while the rest went to the beach for an hour in the evening.

The ladies took a quick trip up to Yoder's nice gift shop to have a look around.

Emily and Jenna rode the tricycle around together afterwards. One would close their eyes and steer while the other one pedaled and told them which way to steer. Quite fun.

Tomorrow we'll all enjoy a breakfast at Yoder's restaurant after the bikers do an early bike ride! Go them!

On Wednesday and Thursday it's off to Legoland for the family of 6!

Help us, Lord, to be thankful for the little things and the big things, and to cherish the memories you've allowed us to make. Thank you for granting us such safety that we are able to have such a vacation.

  1. Cool escalator for the shopping carts! And oh, why didn't you buy the pants?! You could wear them the same day Emily Jean wears those wild red and pink flowered ones.......lol
