Then everyone got to join the bikers for breakfast at Yoder's restaurant. The huge sweet rolls were a hit. 1 for each of the two tables our family took up.
Learned how to play yet another card game, Up & Down the River, after breakfast. Hung out until lunch.
At noon, Doug and Rochelle left to catch their flight at the Sarasota airport. We took a family picture before they left. The trip would not have been the same without them, and all are glad they spent over a week with us. Thanks for all the memories and fun times! Hope we were able to give you some great times too!
After dropping Doug and Rochrlle off at the airport, Grandma Rose and Papa Dave stopped at the circus to get tickets so we could go that afternoon. As soon as they got back, we all jumped in the car. The grandparents ate their lunch on the run, while we drove to the Ringling circus. Aunt Janie stayed home.
The circus was not what we were expecting. It was in a nice theater (brought over from Italy), not in a tent like we were expecting. No photography allowed in the circus. Too bad.
There was a funny clown, a 16-year old Ring Mistress, a cool juggling guy, a hand balancer with a cute chihuahua named Scooby, a graceful lady who did aerial straps, and a couple who did quick change illusion.
After dinner we all sat around trying to figure out how they did that. She must have changed into at least 8 different outfits, only taking 2-3 seconds for each!
Before the show even started, Darrell could tell this was an high-falootin circus.
Quote of the Day: "This circus is more upscale than the one at the Fayette County Fair!"
The impressive hand balancer and his dog. Will be on America's Got Talent soon!
After the circus we went back to the house and Grandma Rose and Ladina pulled together a wonderful meal of chicken alfredo and broccoli salad.
Then we went to a siesta key beach shop to buy souveniers.
Doug and Rochelle landed in Philadelphia around 7PM. Doug's text is funny:
"Just landed in Philly. A strange trip, no one yelled road kill and I didn't sweat at all:)"
Went home, Emily took a run in the dark, and readied for tomorrow!
Lovely pictures, especially the family pic by the tree!
ReplyDeleteI love the Stoltzfus family photo! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd how about how tan Jenna is?!? Wow!
I had to chuckle at the photo of Jenna in the store trying on the hat with the store employee watching in the background.....
