On the day the adventure began...

Ready to go!

According to uncle Doug, Vintage hill was the largest hill we will ride up on the way to Florida. Glad to have that one over with!
David had a goal of being able to ride up Vintage hill on 6 minutes. He was never able to do that during our two months of training, but he did it today in 5:49! He is a machine. A machine with nosebleed side effects.

Dave Nissley and Josiah rode along a little bit when we passed their house.

Darrell wants to start a game where we count all the road kill we see. So far we have two. He got that idea from his friend Brian at work.

It was wonderful weather, we had the wind basically at our backs. We probably averaged 13+ mph. We rode 39 miles today and now we are in Newark, DE. Staying at a motel tonight in this college town. Had supper at a McDonalds.

Quote of the day: "that lady at the desk says she's not sure we'll be able to fit our bikes in our motel room, but she just underestimates our organizational skills." ~Papa Dave

We found a pair of sunglasses and David found a penny on the side of the road.

Looking forward to a 94 mi day tomorrow!
